Fun in the Sun on Field Day
Francestown Elementary School recently celebrated a highly successful Field Day, thanks to the tireless efforts of Hannah Reinfrank. Her dedication and hard work made this event a memorable experience for all the student
The day was filled with excitement as students traveled through various activity stations. They were placed in multi-age groups, each named after a fun aspect of a day at the beach. These groups included the Surfers, Beach Balls, Shells, Flip Flops, Sunshine, Seagulls, and Sandcastles
Among the many activities, students enjoyed a riveting game of Froggy Toes, traditional backyard games, parachute play, disc golf, volleyball, and scooter floor hockey. After a lively morning of activities, students were treated to a choice of movies after lunch, providing a relaxing break
The highlight of the day was the Kona Ice Truck, which provided a cool and refreshing treat to cap off the festivities.
We extend our gratitude to everyone who supported the read-a-thon, which helped make this fantastic day possible. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you once again for contributing to the success of Field Day at Francestown Elementary School.

FES Visits the Montshire Museum
Francestown Elementary School students recently enjoyed an enriching all-school field trip to the Montshire Museum, where they were immediately captivated by the diverse and interactive exhibits.
Throughout the museum, students engaged in hands-on activities that delved into fascinating scientific concepts such as elasticity and surface tension with bubbles, friction, light, fog, and much more. One of the highlights of the trip was the water feature, which was a major hit among the students.
In addition to the engaging exhibits, students participated in science explorations focused on forces and motion, as well as insects, enhancing their understanding of these important scientific principles.
A special thank you goes out to the PTO for generously covering the entrance fees, and to the parent volunteers who helped make this trip possible. Their support is instrumental in bringing vibrant and exciting activities to our school.
We encourage all community members to consider joining our amazing team to continue providing such enriching experiences for our students.

Reflecting on a Year of Learning
On our last Outdoors Lion's Learning Day, students reflected on the year by nature journaling in the garden. Kelly Marshall, our resident master gardener who has helped us cultivate the garden all year, taught us about invasive species and how to help our local spaces thrive. Kara Reynolds, from the Harris Center for Conservation Education, joined us to play favorite games. Students also painted Kindness Rocks and placed them in the garden to welcome visitors to our school.
